On Board Services hiring Contract Sr. Captial Buyer for Fortune 500 Chemical Corporation. Our client is seeking a strong candidate to manage the procurement of materials and services for all assigned Major Capital Projects. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Business Unit Capital Sourcing Leads in developing and managing the procurement strategies for equipment, supplies, and services required to support Major Capital Projects; while ensuring compliance with company procurement procedures. The position will coordinate directly with the Business Unit Capital Sourcing Leads and report to the Global Capital Procurement Leader.
Duration: 12 Month Assignment
Client Location: Fortune 500 Company in Washington, WV 26181
Work Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage material and services procurement processes in support of Major Capital Projects
  • Oversight of EPC/CM providers in the execution of Major Capital Projects
  • Oversight and input in the development of project procurement plans for Major Capital Projects
  • Assure the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives following the agreed processes and sourcing strategy methodology set by the Business Unit Capital Sourcing Lead and Global Capital Procurement Leader.
  • Maintains focus on added value, lowest total life cycle cost and cost savings
  • Implements measurement systems that clearly indicate the performance level of the sourcing strategy and supplier effectiveness
  • Effectively negotiate agreements with the inclusion of Legal, Risk Management, and Finance, as required
  • Oversee entire requisition-to-PO process for Major Capital Projects purchases
  • Promotes excellent working relationships with internal customers and other supporting organizations
  • Maintains relationships with key business and manufacturing partners and key supplier contacts
  • Works closely with cross functional teams to effectively manage 3rd party support and their project deliverables.
  • Be the key procurement interface and leader for third party providers in execution of all Major Capital Projects as assigned by the Global Capital Procurement Leader.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required Engineering or Technical degree preferred
  • Demonstrated adherence to all Core Values
  • Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills. Able to conduct complex analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and quickly initiate changes in plan when appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and deliver results.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
  • Technical/Engineering background or experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years procurement related experience required with experience in capital projects preferred
  • 5+ years of chemical or related industry experience and knowledge related to purchasing and materials management is preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
